Located in San Diego’s North Park neighborhood, Mystic Water Kava Bar and Yoga Studio wanted a site that would give them a web presence and keep their followers informed of upcoming events, workshops and classes. It was important for them to be able to perform updates in house, as well as have the ability to send automatic updates regarding events via Facebook and Twitter.
Prior to building the site, a detailed keyword analysis of the niche was performed to determine a suitable, search engine oriented keyword-driven structure for the website.
With regard to design, Mystic Water itself is a very unique space and their website needed to follow suit. The aesthetic of the site was designed around the banyan tree (they have a handcrafted banyan tree inside of the kava bar), with the leaves serving as the background with other earthy and wooden tones throughout. The homepage of the site revolves around events at Mystic Water San Diego. The top slider provides an overview of the different aspects to Mystic Water including yoga, kava and music. The events calendar in the center of the homepage is linked directly to the blog, and each time a post is created about an event, that event/post will show up on the homepage calendar. The bottom of the homepage provides links to the blog area, and general information about Mystic Water.
Mystic Water’s website contains a number of featured which help to keep users “in the loop” with regard to the studio’s events, workshops and classes. Each page has a link to their Twitter and Facebook identities, which were also created by Design SEO Hosting. By clicking either of the “follow” buttons, visitors to the site can link up with Mystic Water through Facebook and/or Twitter, and they will be notified when the website is updated with a new post or event. The website is set to automatically update Facebook and Twitter each time a new post is created, instead of the client needed to log into each site and post the link. Visitors to the site may also choose to subscribe to email notifications from Mystic Water, which will notify them any time a new post or event is added to the website.
Top menu bar navigation ensures the site visitors are never lost, while also giving them the ability to explore other areas of the site with ease. The sidebar widgets are also accessible from each page, and give visitors the ability to follow via social networking channels, sign up for the newsletter/event updates, read the latest blog entries and see Mystic Water’s location and hours.
Google Analytics and Google Webmaster Tools integration provide daily insight on entrance pages, content traffic, and visitor data.
