Simple Iron Truth started out with a simple Tumblr site a few years ago. As Simple Iron Truth grew, the site’s owner began looking for a platform with more extensibility (you guessed it – this is where Design SEO Hosting + WordPress came in).
The Simple Iron Truth site was Tumblr to WordPress migration. The main goal of this project was to move the Simple Iron Truth website from it’s Tumblr subdomain to a self-hosted WordPress site. We did this while maintaining all of the existing attributes of the site including: content, video, images, urls, etc.
The site’s design has many Tumblr-like aesthetics, with a similar layout, color, texture and feel to the Tumblr version of the Simple Iron Truth website. An existing logo for the brand was integrated into the design, and custom menus, widgets and search features were added.
In addition to keeping a similar feel and functionality to the original site, we added enhancements to encourage visitor participation. Commenting is open on each of the blog posts, to both registered and unregistered members of the site. Custom contact forms were created to enable visitors to share their story, choosing to remain anonymous if preferred. All contact form and comment data, as well as the site data in it’s entirety, has database storage enabled – giving the client the ability to TRULY own their own content.
The homepage of the site goes right to the newest blog entry, and visitors are able to search through the website in a variety of ways. Previously written posts are organized by date in the archives widget on the right, can be found by using the search tool at the top of the page or by browsing through using the arrows in the top toolbar. Simple Iron Truth also has a number of static pages, which are visible and available on each page of the site through the tabs under the logo. Within these pages visitors have the ability to ask questions, provide feedback, contact the site owner directly or read more about Simple Iron Truth.
Google Analytics and Google Webmaster Tools integration provide daily insight on entrance pages, content traffic, and visitor data.
